. In my opinion: Regardless of the
techniques, strategies, products or equipment used.
Ultimately the quality of the job will be determined
by one thing. The pride and knowledge of the guy wearing the Boss

Please remember. We
tell all customers that we will guarantee stains as long as they have not dyed the fibers. Pet stains, red stains and kool aid stains
are great examples of stains that can
potentially dye the carpet fibers. Always
attempt normal procedures to remove these
stains to demonstrate due diligence. However
if results are not effective. remember to
use the term "dyed the fibers" when
explaining this to the client. That term
will help remind the client of what the
office staff promised. |

cleaning procedure called Ultraclean.

Overview
Extra Necessary Products and Equipment. |
As
a National Service
Partner it is critical
that you master the 5
step cleaning our company promotes. This
procedure insures that we have an
enthusiastic client when the service is
completed. It is
very common for
customers to ask you about this 5
step procedure. It is
essential that you
memorize the description
of the 5 steps to explain when
necessary. This procedure is designed
for all carpet
conditions and is excellent for
carpets with heavily soiled traffic
areas.
The
Ultra clean 5 Step process is best
performed with Prochem Ultrapack pre
spray and a neutralizing rinse run
through the wand during the cleaning.
*Our
company does not recommend ever running
detergent or any kind of cleaning agent
through the carpet wand during cleaning.
Doing this, leaves allot of residue in
the carpet that promotes fast
re-soiling.
Here is a complete
description of the 5 step Ultra clean
technique........
Step 1
|
Pre-Treat First we individually pre-treat any spots or stains
that require individual stain removal.
O-Pet stain O-Rust stains
and O-ink
stains
Are examples of
stains we would pre-treat before
step 2.
|
Step 2
|
Pre-Spray Our Preconditioner
Then we treat the carpet with the heated Prochem
Ultrapac prespray using a hydraforce
sprayer. We allow this to dwell for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
When pre-spraying always saturate
heavily soiled traffic areas. The
rule of thumb is: The more
time you spend pre-spraying, the
less time you spend on the wand.
Be very detailed with your spraying
and focus on saturating all areas
that appear soiled and puddeling the worst 30% of the carpet.
Effective detailed pre-spraying is
essential for maximum results. The
carpet should be sprayed heavily
enough that a soaking effect is
achieved.
When pre-spraying , remember the 70-30 rule: Spend 70% of your prespraying time on the worst 30% of the carpet. | This is one of the biggest secrets in carpet cleaning. Understanding that prespraying is the biggest factor in determining how clean the carpet comes out. The goal is to leave absolutely no microscopic "Dry Spots" . Dry spots are what makes the carpet look not as clean when you are done.
Think of the analogy of washing
dishes. If you have a crusty
dish it can be very difficult to
scrub clean. take that same dish
and let it "soak" or "dwell" in
dish washing soap for 20 minutes
and now it becomes very easy to
just wipe clean. Your pre-spray
will achieve the same thing for
you but it must be sprayed
heavily enough to get a soaking
effect. And we must let it
dwell. |
|
Step 3
|
Agitate our prespray to saturate dry spots and maximize dwell time.
Next we look for heavily soiled traffic areas and walk ways and
we rake the pre-spray into the carpet, using a nylon carpet rake or a floor buffer.
Rake the pre-spray in north and
south and east and west.
Our goal is to get total fiber coverage with the prespray, eliminating all micro-dry-spots.
Again remember the 70-30 rule:
Spend 70% of your agitation time on the worst 30% of the carpet.
This is critical for heavily soiled
areas. What you will notice, is that
the carpet actually begins to look
clean while you rake. Always try to
rake heavily soiled areas with a
cross motion. east and west. And
north and south. If you have a floor
buffer you can also use a carpet
bonnet pad for a faster scrubbing.
Here is a link to a great
inexpensive mini buffer that is
great for scrubbing....Mini
Buffer
While we are agitating the carpet, we are also allowing for effective dwell time. Please remember: The longer the prespray dwells in an active wet state. The better the cleaning results you will achieve. Don't make the mistake of shortchanging your dwell time.
| Its all about eliminating dry spots. Any part of a dirty fiber that does not touch prespray will still appear dingy after the wand rinse. Good agitation overcomes this to get the best results.
Without good agitation , your pre-spray may just sit on the surface of the fibers. |
|
Step 4
|
Neutralizing Rinse The 4th step is we do a deep steam extraction
cleaning with a neutralizing rinse to completely rinse the carpet and
ensure that no residue is left in the carpet. If we are highly effective on step 2 and 3, then this should give us great final results in the appearance of the carpet. |
| Please remember if the rinsing results are not desirable. This is an indication that preconditioning steps 2 and 3 were probably not effective. Do not overuse the wand to try to clean the carpet. Repeat steps 2 and 3 if necessary. |
*Never run detergent through the
carpet wand. This will leave residue
that attracts dirt and soil back
into the carpet. All major carpet
manufactures recommend a
neutralizing rinse be the final step
of the cleaning process. This step
leaves the carpet feeling soft and
fluffy and ensures we have rinsed
the carpet effectively.
|
We recommend Prochem All Fiber Rinse for this step. |
|
Step 5
|
And the final step is we do a series of what we call dry strokes to leave the carpet as dry as possible for the client.
The carpet should be left just
slightly damp to the touch. And
should fully dry within 5 to 8 hours
at the most. |
